EMMA CARMICHAEL is normally the Travelling Through Podcast host but in this episode, she's swapped seats to be interviewed by her partner Stephen Marriott who is soon to launch his own podcast series, Marriott's Side Trips.

Emma was brought up in Edinburgh and moved to London when she was 20 years old. In her own words she did "everything upside down and back to front" and believes that no choices you make in life need be forever, it's a case of knowing when to let go.

Life is short, and can be cut even shorter, so in her mind it's best to make the most of each day. An adventure doesn't necessarily mean travelling far, it can begin on your doorstep.

We hope you enjoy listening to this podcast about Emma's early life, growing up, moving to London, working, travelling, and eventually taking on a professional career which took her to the Balkans as part of a post-conflict cultural heritage programme with the Council of Europe - and all this before returning to London to fulfil her bookshop-cafe dream in Waterloo, London SE1 (2014-2019). If you want to learn a little bit about the life of the woman from the bookshop and now the Travelling Through podcast host, this podcast episode is for you :) - enjoy.
