Jose Andres’ Gets Bezos Money, Garage Sale At Capital One Arena, Mormon Temple To Reopen to the Public

Washingtonian reports a few details about Jeff Bezos’ trip to space. Amelia Earhart’s aviator goggles, a piece of canvas from the Wright Brothers’ plane, and a bronze medallion made from the first hot air balloon flight in 1783. All items were borrowed from The Explorers Club.

Jeff Bezos announced in a post-flight press conference that he would be donating $100 million to José Andrés’ D.C.-based World Central Kitchen.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment’s professional sports team brands is hosting a Garage Sale at Capital One Arena on Friday, July 23 from 8am-8pm. Merch items from Washington Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, Capital City Go-Go and Wizards District Gaming. In addition, items from the various entertainment events held at Capital One Arena over the years will be available, too. Items will be as low as $1 - nothing over $30.

The Mormon Temple is reopening to the public after renovations. The Temple will host an open house for the general public from April 28 to June 4, 2022. Ticket info will be available online on November 1.
