Kitchener/Waterloo’s Clarissa Diokno is a class act who’s payed many dues on the cover band stage, the kareoke stage (as both host and singer), has pursued acting and all matters of performing; I couldn’t be happier to chat with her after releasing her fantastic first original song. It just so happens that her debut single “Confusion” is a JAM, and naturally we discuss this. There’s a bit of a narrative starting in the dog days of Chainsaw nights in Uptown Waterloo, through the cover circuit, working in Los Angeles, and then back to KW, where in quarantine, this seasoned, silk-voiced and very down to earth ARTIST is still set on taking over the world.

Chat with Clarissa Diokno recorded over Zoom from Gjoa Haven NU to Waterloo on February 21st, 2021. Voiceover by Milo Axelrod, theme music by William Chernoff, piano outro by JP Sunga, everything else by Todd Donald. Presented in part, by Afternoon Tea. afternoontealabel.com
