Shannon Godelie’s outfit, the Canadian podcast Pull The Plug, with Justin Briner and husband Justin Godelie, has been going on since the show's original form and launch on Kitchener College radio almost as far back as I’ve been doing this. They did it the smart way, no hapless solo-artistry, no inconsistency.. just pure, hilarious, not-for-Mama pandemonium. PTP’s brand of Canadian fringe acoustic music, blended with discussion of various headline topics, riff-raff, as well as longevity, have certainly seen themselves pay off over the years. Since attending the same college (Conestoga) back in the mid-2000s, Shannon was the one member of this team of hooligans I’d met, and this was our first time having a full-on conversation. What better way to launch a new iteration of my own show, than not trying so hard, and being in front of a pro, at talking?
