My brother and I watch the 1987 B-grade fantasy film, Deathstalker 2.

The Thirteenth Hour Podcast #429: Welcome My Brother, Jeremy, as talk about Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)

https://archive.org/download/podcast-429/Podcast%20429.mp3

This week, my brother and I are watching the new Dungeons and Dragons movie.  All in all, this is the sort of film I think we would have both really liked had something like this come out when we were kids, when the main exposure we had to DnD was through fantasy art, cartoons like The Flight of Dragons, Endless Quest books, and the LJN DnD toyline (we had a Warduke figure).  This film takes place in the Forgotten Realms, as shown in a very creative intro sequence, putting firmly into an established part of the DnD world.

I’ll let the episode speak for itself when it comes to our thoughts on the film, though I’m making a note here of related DnD things that I want to check out based on our discussion:

-The Dungeons and Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures comic book, which continues the adventures of the kids from the DnD cartoon

Baldur’s Gate 3

Check out Jeremy‘s work over at Pixel Grotto, CBR.com, and Classic Batman Panels on IG. If you are of the DnD persuasion, his articles on DnD Beyond may be right up your alley, and you can view his entire portfolio here.  Thanks, Jeremy, for coming on the show!

And, as an aside, the hunter action figure from A Shadow in the Moonlight is available on Etsy!
