18. Antony and Joyce: Helping our daughter live her best life when living with type 1 diabetes

In this episode, I speak to Antony and Joyce whose daughter Maya was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 14 months old. Antony and Joyce talk about Maya's diagnosis story and  family life after her diagnosis, the impact diabetes technology has had on Maya and overcoming fears and how it’s turned their lives around and we also discuss:

-  building relationships with schools. 
- Maya's Celiac disease diagnosis
- how they are teaching Maya to develop resilience towards her type 1
- talking about health in the black community
