It's the last episode of Season Two, so the gang addresses a favorite subject: the overlap of Theology and Pop culture, this time focusing on Film and TV! Christine kicks it off my discussing two favorite TV Shows, Babylon 5 and Stargate, their respective explorations of religious ideas and the pursuit of Truth/ Genuine Divinity. Seth then addresses themes of challenging religious power, authority, and hypocrisy, in Rosemary's Baby, The Witch, and The Devils. Erica had too much to chose from on the pop-culture front, but found a disappoint dearth of good cogitation on the scholastic side, and boy does she let us know about it! This leads to a discussion on the greater lack of study of pop-culture from the academy and the Church, and the potential problems this is causing when the greater societal thinking is rushing forward while the scholars can't be bothered to engage.

We'll be back in late October with Season 3, but in the meantime follow us on instagram, and keep an eye out for occasional check-ins between now and then!
