This week we welcome two Kentucky rock stars to the show - State Representative Attica Scott and Berea City Councilor Emily Ladouceur. These two extraordinary women share their stories about what it’s like to run for office as “normal” people, and talk about the challenges of holding down full time jobs and being single parents while also legislating. Emily explains the struggle of trying to pass a Juneteenth resolution and Attica shares her frustration at never even getting her filed bills to be taken up in committee, much less voted on. We also ask for their advice about raising aware, involved, and engaged kids during these complex times, and marvel at their ability to feel empathy and joy in their work. Tune in as the women of the pod fan girl over two of their favorite elected officials!
