Ash covered the lifelong abuse of Gypsy Rose by her mother Dee Dee, who had factitious disorder imposed on another (previously called Munchausen syndrome by proxy), and Dee Dee's murder at the hands of Gypsy's boyfriend. Gypsy suffered extreme physical and mental abuse for decades and once she could no longer face the daily horrors that were her life, feeling she had no other way out, she turned to murder.
