Raw Notes
Shohei Ohtani’s two-way endeavor will carry historical significance, as the 23-year-old Japanese phenom will become the first Major League player to start as a non-pitcher on Opening Day and then start as a pitcher within his team’s first 10 games since Babe Ruth with the Red Sox in 1919.
Does Adam Silver making the first NBA 2K pick mean anything and how important is this NBA eSports league.
The record for strikeouts in a game in all of professional baseball belongs to minor league baseball player Khalil Lee of the Lexington Legends, who in 2017 struck out eight times in a twenty-one inning baseball game
Sammy Sosa and Ray Lankford are the only players to hit for a platinum sombrero more than twice.[3] Only eight players have had six strikeouts, listed below.[3] All eight players who accomplished a “Horn” needed extra innings to do it; the record for strikeouts in a nine-inning game is five.
Striking out six times is a rare occurrence, which in the history of major league play has only occurred in games that went to extra innings, with Sam Horn of the Baltimore Orioles being one of the few to do this. The slugger’s then-teammate, pitcher Mike Flanagan, told reporters after that 1991 event that six strikeouts would thereafter be known as a Horn. He added that if anyone ever strikes out seven times in one game, it will be a Horn of Plenty.
The king of the Golden Sombrero is Ryan Howard, who at the end of 2015 had 27 games with 4 or more strikeouts in his career.
Some say titanium sombrero for 6
Should we call it a Lead sombrero for 8?
Most combined strikeouts by two teams in one game – 48 – New York Yankees at Chicago Cubs (18 innings), May 7, 2017
