From box-office bomb to cult classic, Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria and William H. Macy lead a movie about superheroes with unimpressive powers in Mystery Men.

Directed by Kinka Usher, Mystery Men is the superhero comedy film loosely based on Bob Burden's Flaming Carrot Comics.

Luke and Jae revist this 1999 feature film which dissected the superhero genre in the early years of the genre's great emergence.

Champion City already has a superhero in Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear), but that doesn't deter the city's seven quirky amatueur crime-fighters, who use the Captain's capture at the hands of villain Casanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush) as motivation to prove themselves. The only problem is that their strange powers - silverware hurling, bowling, shovel skills, incompetent invisibility, and deadly flatulence - aren't doing them any favours.
