Bringing together the worlds of Warner Bros. animation and basketball, Space Jam fictionalised the initial retirement and comeback of one of the NBA’s greatest players. The real world collides with the Looney Tunes as Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan team up to defeat a group of aliens in an out of this world game of basketball.

Directed by Joe Pytka, Space Jam is the live-action/animated sports comedy film that is disturbingly turning 25 years old this year and has a standalone sequel (Space Jam: A New Legacy) on its way. Wayne Knight and Bill Murray appear in supporting roles, while Billy West and Danny DeVito headline the voice cast.

Swackhammer (voiced by Danny DeVito), an evil alien theme park owner, needs a new attraction at Moron Mountain. When his gang, the Nerdlucks, heads to Earth to kidnap Bugs Bunny (Billy West) and the Looney Tunes, Bugs challenges them to a basketball game to determine their fate. The aliens agree, but they steal the powers of NBA basketball players, including Larry Bird and Charles Barkley – so Bugs gets some help from superstar Michael Jordan.
