HAPPY HALLOWEEN! In the spirit of Halloween Jason and Rob are rewinding to 1990 to look at The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror (the first five episodes from 1990 to 1994). That’s five episodes; fifteen The Simpsons Halloween segments.

There has been a Simpsons Halloween Special every year since 1990, airing annually since the second season of The Simpsons, and each contain three separate segments, with usually a wrap-around plot connecting or tying together the three stories.

The Simpsons family break canon and enter a horror, science fiction, or supernatural setting, with several different trademarks, from parodying well-known movies, books, radio shows, and television shows, to being more violent than average Simpsons episodes, having gag credits, and including the alien characters Kang and Kodos who have appeared in every episode.

Joined by special appearances by James Earl Jones, The Simpsons get abducted by aliens, Bart and Lisa raise the dead, Mr Burns is a vampire, Ned Flanders is the Devil, Homer creates a time-travelling toaster, and there’s that mysterious gas that turns everybody inside out.

With fifteen spooky tales from directors Wes Archer, Rich Moore, David Silverman, Jim Reardon, and Carlos Baeza, which is your favourite episode? Check out what Jason and Rob thought as they rewind, review, and throw in some fun facts because they’re feeling generous.
