We live in a world of remakes and reboots. This is no secret. And of course there is another reboot on its way. Coming out this month in March – Tomb Raider. So before we check that one out, we wanted to remind ourselves of the original. Rewinding to 2001, we look at Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

This action adventure film which was based on the popular Tomb Raider video game series featuring the character Lara Croft, stars Angelina Jolie as the title character and was directed by Simon West.

The beautiful, brainy, and rich Lara Croft is a “tomb raider” who enjoys collecting ancient artefacts from ruins of temples, cities, and exotic locales worldwide – skilled in hand-to hand combat, weapons training, and foreign languages. Set during a planetary alignment, the secret society the Illuminati seek out an ancient talisman “The Triangle”. Lara is thrown into an adventure, guided by a clue from her deceased father, to find the talisman before the Illuminati can get their hands on it.

Is Lara Croft: Tomb Raider as good as you remember? Is it all action no substance? Do you even remember Daniel Craig being in this movie?
