ಜಿ.ಡಿ.ಪಿ. (ಒಟ್ಟು ದೇಶೀಯ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ) ಬಹುಶಃ ದೇಶದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಗತಿ ಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಅಳತೆಗೋಲು. ಭಾರತದ ಜಿ.ಡಿ.ಪಿ.ಯನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯುವ ವಿಧಾನವು ಸಂಶಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಹಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಮೊದಲು ಜಿ.ಡಿ.ಪಿ. ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಮಹತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅರಿಯಬೇಕು. ಅನುಪಮ್ ಮನೂರ್ ರವರು, ಪವನ್ ಶ್ರೀನಾಥ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣೇಶ್ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಯವರ ಜೊತೆ ತಲೆ-ಹರಟೆ ಪಾಡ್ಕಾಸ್ತಿನ 25 ನೇ ಕಂತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿ.ಡಿ.ಪಿ.ಯ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯುವಂತೆ ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅನುಪಮ್ ರವರು ತಕ್ಷಶಿಲಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರು. ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿನ ಲಾಂಕಾಸ್ಟರ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಇವರು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಪುಲವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
The GDP is perhaps the most important single number when it comes to any country's economy. India's GDP numbers have come under increasing suspicion and controversy, but to understand that, we need to understand what the Gross Domestic Product really is, and why it matters. Anupam Manur joins Ganesh Chakravarthi and Pavan Srinath on Episode 25 of the Thale-Harate Kannada Podcast to help unpack and understand the GDP.
Anupam Manur is an Economist at the Takshashila Institution. He did his Masters from Lancaster University in the UK, and is a prolific writer and analyst looking at economic issues.
