This podcast interview discusses why Kris wrote the book Bitten, and makes a call for new researchers to enter the field of tick-borne illnesses.  We discuss how  PTLDS blocks access to care for patients and the need to treat underlying infections.  She describes how she and her husband got sick with Lyme and coinfections after a vacation to Martha's Vineyard, and how they could not get diagnosed and treatment.  After a year passed after their infection and $60,000 spent, they got a diagnosis and treatment. They are now doing well but could've avoided so much by getting the help they needed early on.  Her book info found here https://www.krisnewby.com/.
