The exciting world of Women's tennis - with Juan Ignacio!

Women's tennis has seemingly moved on from its 2000's and 2010's stars a lot faster than the ATP tour. For a while it was quite difficult to predict who would come out on top, and while there seemed to be a lack of consistency, this hasn't been the case since Simona Halep and Ash Barty ascended to the top, one after the other. Now, with incredible players in their early to mid-twenties playing some of the greatest tennis the world has ever seen, the fun is starting fresh: who will become the next greatest? Who will chase the biggest record? What will be the biggest rivalries? And that's what Juan Ignacio is here for, to help us break down just why women's tennis is so damn exciting.

Going from Iga Swiatek's big run to her third Roland Garros' title and the epic matches he had to win to get there, we discussed other up and coming players as well as the newly established elite, among them: Bia Haddad Maia, the lefty Brazilian who fights until the end; Karolina Muchova, who has been ranked far below what is truly some of the best tennis in this era, but is determined to fix this; Aryna Sabalenka and her powerful game, which makes her arguably the biggest favourite for Wimbledon; Elena Rybakina, who owns what's possibly the best serve in the WTA and will come back to defend her title at Wimbledon; Ons Jabeur, the fan-favourite Tunisian who has an endless arsenal at her disposal and a wealth of talent.

The tennis and stories on the WTA Tour are simply captivating. It's a bottomless well of great sports entertainment. And we should all be paying a whole lot more attention to it (and just paying a whole lot more, really.)
