For Episode 41 of Tendy Talk presented by the BLPA Podcast Network and The Hockey Podcast Network, I chat with former St. Olaf College goaltender and current Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference single-season save percentage leader P.T. Haider. P.T led the league with a 95.7% save percentage in the 1999-2000 season, before graduating and becoming a teacher. A career change lead him to follow in the footsteps of his father and become a police officer. P.T. is now the Deputy Chief in Northfield, MN.
P.T. and I crossed paths when working the summer hockey camps at my alma mater Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN. While it was only natural that we shared some of the stories from our days as camp counselors, we also talked about how P.T. got into the game, and how life as a police officer in Minnesota has been the past year and a half.
With me living not too far from P.T.'s parents, I hope he takes me up on the offer to grab a drink or to share some of my Belfour Spirits whisky that Ed and Dayne sent after I recorded episode 24 with them.
