This week, we talk about the Netflix film Accused (2023), in which a young man travels from London to the countryside and has the worst night of his life, when he is blamed for a terrorist attack on social media. We discuss what the film gets right about pile-ons, and the ways in which violence is presented across different social platforms, as well as some of the bizarre scenarios and characterisation choices that contribute to giving the protagonist the worst night of his life.

PALESTINE AID LINKS

As the humanitarian crisis continues to unfold in Gaza, we encourage anyone who can to donate to Medical Aid for Palestinians. You can donate using the links below.

https://www.map.org.uk/donate/donate

Currently, Aid is not getting through. You can donate with the knowledge that these funds will be used the instant Aid is allowed into Gaza, but please do make your voice heard in other ways about this. Showing up at protest marches and writing letters to elected MPs are useful acts of solidarity.
