Coach Joe Pechota
In this episode, you’ll hear from Coach Joe Pechota. Coach Pechota is currently the Head Coach at Siena Heights University. Coach Joe has been the head coach at this tremendous NAIA university for over a decade now. Coach Joe has coached NAIA All-America Honorable Mentions Keith Jordan Jr. and DeMarco Dickerson. He has also coached five All-WHAC selections. Coach Joe came to the Saints after seven seasons as the head coach for Brescia University, an NAIA Division II team in Owensboro, Kentucky. Under Coach Pechota’s leadership, Brescia appeared in two consecutive Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference finals. Coach Joe coached six Bearcats to NAIA All-America honors. Prior to coaching at Brescia, Coach Pechota was at Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne where he transitioned from assistant to associate head coach to interim head coach during his six seasons at IPFW. Coach Joe played for Concordia University. Immediately, you will find out that Coach Joe coaches to help his players grow. Specifically, to grow players and people. And, there are a couple of themes in this conversation that demonstrate how he helps his guys grow. First, wait to hear how he talks about CONFRONTATION in leadership. This is, for sure, a growth mindset leadership approach. And, I can’t wait for you to hear him give his thoughts on COMMITMENT. Just wait for you to hear him talk about Commitment versus Convenient. Quite simply, he weaves this topic from the middle of the podcast to the very end. It is outstanding. I firmly believe that coaches can coach - no matter at what level. Coach Joe is another great example to illustrate my belief.
