It was on this date in 1639, that Harvard College was named after clergyman John Harvard.
It was 243 years ago today that William Herschel discovered Uranus.
162 years ago today, The Act Prohibiting the Return of Slaves was passed by the United States Congress, effectively annulling the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 and setting the stage for the Emancipation Proclamation.
Also on March 13, 1930, The news of the discovery of Pluto was announced by Lowell Observatory.
