Home baker turned entrepreneur and author of “The Cakes by Melissa” cookbook, Melissa Ben-Ishay found herself out of a job as a media planner. By partnering up with her brother and with a lot of moxie, a new enterprise was born, Baked by Melissa. These bite-sized cupcakes and macaroons are the pinnacle of the multi-million dollar business. 


Melissa’s love for her cupcake empire, children and husband translates to her love of baking and cooking. 


We get down to the nitty gritty and asked Melissa which are the flavors that didn’t fly (Caramel Apple Pop and Chocolate Banana) and we all came to a mutual consensus that cannoli must make a comeback!
