It’s a tale of a Paralympian fighting to compete and successfully medaling in the 2022 Olympic Beijing Games. For Brenna Huckaby, a 3x Olympic gold medalist, world champion, and cancer survivor, the bronze medal won in 2022 is perhaps the most meaningful. Accordingly to Brenna, the medal represents and encourages those who continue to fight an uphill battle of accessibility and inclusion to keep pushing the glass ceiling. Brenna hopes that her message of strength and resilience inspires those like herself who have fought and are still battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Forever an athlete, Brenna’s love for gymnastics translated post-cancer to snowboarding, as she felt that the balance beam’s feel was replicated in her new sport. Visualizing her goals by looking to the next mountain to shred, Brenna continued to build upon her skills into what is today a champion status. Brenna’s self-proclaimed “Step Out of Line” moment was when she realized that her own self-worth was not based on winning medals and that she alone was enough.
