Why did Jesus die? The religious leaders saw Jesus' death as a strategic and religious necessity. The Roman governor saw it as a political necessity. In modern times, many people see Jesus' death as a prime example of the courage to bear the burden of one's being. Jesus, however, gives us his own answer: "The Son of Man came to give his life a ransom for many." Simply stated, Jesus died for our sins.
