Father James Martin is a Jesuit priest and editor-at-large at America, a weekly magazine published by the Jesuits of the United States. Father Martin is widely know for his advocacy for the rights of LGBT people, including his book Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity (https://www.amazon.com/Building-Bridge-Relationship-Compassion-Sensitivity/dp/0062694316). In 2017, Pope Francis appointed him as a consultant to the Vatican's Secretariat for Communications (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dicastery_for_Communication).
