On Tuesday MLB Ownership announced that they were cancelling regular season games as their self-inflicted work stoppage continues. We're joined today by a couple guys who have been following it closely in Andrew Stoeten of TheBatFlip.ca and Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star.

We'd love it if you'd take a second to support the podcast by leaving a rating and a review there on your app. It makes a big difference for us and only takes a moment.

Lots to cover today including the quick disappearance of optimism on Monday night that a deal might be close, whether we should be surprised at how any of this has played out, what this work stoppage is all about, what comes next and when this may all be solved and finally how the Toronto Blue Jays specifically fit in to this equation.

And since talking business instead of on-field baseball is painful, we wrapped things up with a little actual Jays talk and how much fun the couple weeks in between a deal being reached and the season actually starting could be with tons of player movement.

We were pretty lucky to land such knowledgeable guests for a show like this so a huge thanks to the guys for joining us.

You can find Mike Wilner's work in The Toronto Star and his show Deep Left Field is available wherever you get your podcasts.

Andrew's work, as well as his show Blue Jays Happy Hour, can be found at TheBatFlip.ca where there is both a free and a paid tier.
