Carl spent the last 20 years of his career working various styles of  restaurants throughout the United States. He has opened new restaurants,  trained many staff members in multiple positions, and has experience in  fine dining, casual dining, banquets, weddings, and all sorts of  business functions. He was inspired to study wine and become a Sommelier  about 10 years ago now and accomplished my goal in November of 2016. He  is currently the Wine Director for the Golden Steer Steakhouse and has  managed the program for almost four years. Carl is a Certified Sommelier  from the Court of Master Sommeliers, the most prominent certifying body  in the US. There are 4 levels of Somms, Introductory, Certified,  Advanced, and Master. Currently, there are only 238 Master Somms in the  entire world so it’s a very elite group. He was gearing up to take the  Advanced Course in preparation for the Advanced Exam before the Covid  crisis changed the world.
