Charlexia connects the amazement she feels in nature – parks – and the emotion that she experiences when in front of a street mural. Nature is in her view something that allows us the freedom to let our minds wander, not going in a particular direction. It is meditation through that freedom. It can be anything you want it to be, and yet it directs you in no direction at all. In her words it is “grand and encompassing and vague”. You feel enveloped by it. She contrasts that with the “strategic” quality of murals.
