In this episode we chat with Ben Foster about the process behind managing a major sporting event such as a Major League Baseball game, and the creative process behind curating each game, putting on an entertaining show, curating a season and building an audience.
Ben was the General Manager for the Australian Baseball League for 10 years. Owned by Major League Baseball and the Australian Baseball Federation, the ABL sought to create a new standard for Australian sports by challenging the 'status quo' both on and off the field.
As the company's first employee, Ben relished in the challenges of building and growing a successful professional sporting league from scratch. As General Manger, Ben oversaw all aspects of the business; from financial management, business development, and strategic planning to event delivery and baseball operations.
