We're back people! This is it! After a long wait, the MCU has finally made its long awaited return to theaters, with the long delayed Black Widow! Black Widow is a 2021 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures, it is the 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Cate Shortland from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, and stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, alongside Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Olga Kurylenko, William Hurt, Ray Winstone & Rachel Weisz Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), the film sees Romanoff on the run and forced to confront a conspiracy tied to her past. The #talkintv boys discuss the implications of the latest installment of the MCU after 6 months of straight MCU content from Disney+, whether the very poor timing and long delay of this movie justifying its existance, and whether Scarlett's as usual impeccable performance as the character is enough to carry it, as well as the legacy of the character moving forward. It's al covered here on the #talkintvpodcast
