I am honored to introduce you to my KD sister, Abbey Benjamin, on episode 38 of Talk with Tori!

Abbey Benjamin shares her journey of parenting her daughter with a rare genetic disorder and epilepsy.  She is passionate and advocates normalizing disabilities and illness in everyday life, and creating an inclusive environment for all.  Her daughter requires total care, but it has not stopped her from enjoying inclusive settings that every child wants to experience.  She opens up about the special bond between her son and daughter, and the importance of exposing children to various environments.  She has a book series called Benjamin Books and recently released her first book, In My Sissy’s Wheelchair, in hopes that her books teach others about inclusion, disabilities, and opportunities for a fulfilled life for all.

She paints a beautiful picture of how each person deserves normalcy in their lives, but it is up to each of us to do our part.
