Burt Bunt’s Perfect Highball

Ingredients:

Your favorite sarsaparilla

Ginger ale (preferably), but jaunty ale will do in a pinch

Crushed ice

Procure your tallest, remark-causing-est drinking receptacle Pour two fingers of sweet sweet sarsaparilla into your drinking receptacle like you want to put out the great Chicago fire Wait for your wife to make a sassy remark about how tall your glass is. Sass her back or just give her a wink Add four fingers ginger ale. If you only have jaunty ale, proceed to steps five through seven Put on your fanciest, dandiest gloves Hold Jaunty ale in both hands, with pinkies extended like you were visiting King George Very, very slowly, drop by drop, add the jaunty ale to the drinking receptacle Add crushed ice. You can do it in one go or add each piece one at a time and pretend they’re Abbot and Costello hiding in barrels jumping off Niagara Falls Enjoy in the privacy of your own home, or in front of an editor if you want to get discovered
