2022 Update

Hello everyone! It’s Amber! Long time, no podcast episode!

This brief update episode is to let y’all know what’s been going on and why we went on an unexpected, unfortunate, and unannounced hiatus. 

We’ll start with me. So last fall 2021, I began to help my family with home health care for my grandmother whose lung cancer progressed to stage 4. I was doing overnight stays meaning my sleep schedule completely flipped. Then when she passed away in October, I also helped my family through that process. Meanwhile, I was working an incredibly stressful full-time job, a part-time job, and wrapping up freelance projects PLUS dealing with mental health and physical health issues. 

It was all WAY WAAAAAY too much. 

Kristin gave me permission to talk about her situation as well. She was helping me pick up slack by doing more Table Top Crowds but then she had a sudden family death as well as other family members needing urgent health care. 

She and I both had our priorities completely shift and with me being the show runner and out of commission, I could not provide Kenny with any direction to keep the show going. 

I have not been checking the TTB email in quite sometime so if you’ve been trying to reach us, I apologize. I also apologize to the people we’ve interviewed and have not had the chance yet to air your show.

I’m truly sorry this show stalled and that I couldn’t even bring myself to make an announcement. I love this show so much and I enjoy getting to chat with people in the industry and introducing them to you. 

Now here we are in April of 2022. The last episode that aired was November 29 2021 meaning it’s been about 4.5 months since we released an episode. 

So what’s going on with us & Table Top Babble now? 

I’m in a much better place mentally and physically. I quit my full-time job and I work full-time for Kobold Press now which was a hugely exciting event back in March! I was also diagnosed with ADHD and I had a medication change which has been helping me a lot. Kristin is also starting to get some sort of footing back under her. 

That being said, we’re still moving forward and will be putting out episodes for Table Top Babble & Crowd. I have 4 interviews in the can and Kristin has a few as well. 

We’re going to start airing episodes again starting tomorrow (4/19/22) but it will only be every other week to start. This is because we need to get our collective groove back. It’s also because Dave will no longer be editing the show (for now) which means I will be doing the editing.

Thank you, if you’re still listening and have been wondering and waiting. We’re starting back up slow and small but we want to get back to where we were and maybe even grow a bit more than before.
