It's a comic book focused week at Syfy Wire on our little podcast. There's a Squirrel Girl and the New Warriors half hour comedy coming to Freeform and we've got some half hour comedic thoughts about it. Plus, after a week of heated discussion on Marvel's diversity statement from their retail summit, we wanted to get in our two cents about what it really takes to keep the lights on at a local brick and mortar. Dany is joined by a trio of comic experts: Fabian Lelay (artist for Jade Street Protection Services at Black Mask Studios), Vita Ayala (writer for DC and Black Mask Studios) and Matthew Klein (famed comic book slinger for Valiant and the New York City institution, Forbidden Planet). Three have worked at Forbidden Planet, one works at Midtown Comics and, so, with a blend of passion for the creative and an awareness of the retail realism, we tackle one of the most challenging conversations happening across nerd media today.
