With many a convention going by the wayside during these socially distanced times, Picardo and his Voyager crew are reuniting to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary virtually May 26th on Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley’s Stars in the House YouTube show, and the actor told us all about how that came together — which basically boils down to him participating in a China Beach reunion (where he played another doctor) recently, and pitching Seth and James on the idea of doing another one for Voyager.
Of course, while we were discussing the reunion, which is also a much needed benefit for The Actors Fund, we had all sorts of Voyager questions to discuss as well: like when Picardo first realized the very talented (and Broadway experienced) cast was clicking, the line that made him truly understand his character, if he’s ever been mistaken for a real doctor, his favorite “I’m a doctor not a …” moment, and more.
