A common misconception about nonprofit organizations is that they are not supposed to be profitable.  That is incorrect.  Nonprofit organizations use surplus revenue to forward their mission or a social issue.  Crystal Bailes visits the guest seat to discuss how she established a social enterprise venture aligned with her nonprofit agency, Girls Empowered Mentally for Success (GEMS), to create a better experience and world for the girls served through the agency. Crystal Bailes is the CEO and founder of Girls Empowered Mentally for Success (GEMS), a local nonprofit organization that has provided support for at-risk adolescent girls for more than 15 years. GEMS helps young women succeed during difficult life transitions, even in the face of trauma.
