Maque DaVis and Darren Linker with the Fremont Arts Council share a great overview of the many festive and artful events that countless volunteers collaborate in creating throughout the year. The Solstice Parade is one of the major events of the summer, but in the fall Luminata takes place - an abundance of lanterns in a joyful parade around Green Lake. At Halloween, Troll-O-Ween occurs - a birthday party for the Fremont Troll, and the list goes on. Volunteers, members (nicknamed Fremontsters) are welcome and ample space for creativity exists. Volunteers are needed in the tech end of things to work on the website. The council's workshop at the Powerhouse at 3940 Fremont Ave N. Is open Monday and Thursday 6-9pm for all to join in and find your creativity. Donations and membership are appreciated for this iconic Puget Sound nonprofit.
