Lynn Julian is one of the women featured in the book "(Extra)Ordinary Women: Ten Inspirational Stories". Lynn shares her experiences as a Boston Marathon bombing survivor dealing with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTSD. Lynn's story serves us in multiple ways--having suffered a concussion some years earlier. Having one concussion predisposes a person to others occurring. Because PTSD and TBI are not visible, treatment didn't happen immediately, and it's important to get attention as soon as possible. The healing takes time, and Lynn found she had to self advocate when after 2 years doctors said she would not improve. Lynn kept researching and found clinical trials, ultimately bringing them to her city hospital. She volunteers with an organization that supports victims of terrorism and their families. www.stosglobal.org
