Kraig brings you his recommendations on which IDP players to start and who to sit Monday Night Week 4.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy

Week 4 Monday Night Football brings us the surprising 3-0 Las Vegas Raiders (tied with the Broncos for first in their division) facing off against the 2-1 Los Angeles Chargers. Divisional match-ups are are always fun as you have two teams that know each other very well both vying for an early season advantage in divisional tiebreakers. Will the Raiders keep up their hot streak or will the Chargers continue their divisional win streak after beating the Chiefs last week?

Either way there will be IDP players worth starting in the game, and I am here to help you identify which ones I feel are the best plays. So let’s get to it!

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy: Defensive Linemen

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy – Quinton Jefferson

Quinton Jefferson – Las Vegas Raiders – Sit

Quinton has a plus matchup and has had at least a solo each week. He sits at a 60% snap share average and is the best regular interior linemen for the Raiders. He has also graded out well in tackling and pass rushing. It isn’t a great match-up, but I think he is the best IL/DT option on the slate this week.

Linval Joseph & Christian Covington – Los Angeles Chargers – Start

These two do not inspire a lot of confidence, but IL/DT required leagues make you dig deep and the Raiders give up the third most points to opposing defensive tackles. Both of these guys have at least 2 combined tackles each week and have played at least 49% (Joseph) and 53% (Covington) of snaps this year. If you are playing waiver wire roulette, neither of these are bad options.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy: Edge

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy – Joey Bosa

Kyler Fackrell and Uchenna Nwosu – Los Angeles Chargers – Sit

Of these two, neither have played a lot year and neither have produced starter-worthy numbers. Sit them both.

Joey Bosa – Los Angeles Chargers – Sit

Ok, they say don’t sit your studs. If you don’t have a viable replacement, I would play him, but Joey isn’t fully healthy, and the Raiders do not give up a lot of points to defensive ends this year. He has only had one decent week (Week 1). Weeks 2 and 3 he combined for 3 solos, 3 assist, and half a sack. I don’t like the matchup and his current situation.

Yannick Ngakoue – Las Vegas Raiders – Sit

Yannick has two solos and 4 assists in three games. Week 3 was his highest snap count of the year at 73% and he only had 1 assist. He is big play dependent and not getting it done. Bench him this week.

Maxx Crosby & Solomon Thomas – Las Vegas Raiders- Start

Maxx had a big Week 1, an alright Week 2, and a poor Week 3. If one of the starters produce on the edge for the Raiders, it will be him. The Chargers are slightly better than middle of the road in points given up to opposing defensive ends, and he is much more likely to get your tackles than Yannick.

Solomon has played well for the Raiders with about a 37% snap share; he has had a 44% share each of the past two weeks. In those two weeks, he had 2 solos and 2 sacks, and then 1 solo, 3 assists, and half a sack. He is a deeper play for those that may need one, but I like him more than Yannick.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy: Linebackers

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy – Denzel Perryman

Denzel Perryman and Corey Littleton – Las Vegas Raiders – Start

These are the top linebackers by snap percentage and production for the Raiders this year. Littleton has 13 solos and 11 assists on at least a 70% snap share each week while Perryman has 21 solos and 15 assists on at least a 75% snap share, through three weeks.

KJ Wright is the only other Raiders linebacker with double digit snap percentage in any week (he has done it in all three so far), but he only has 2 solos and 2 assists on the year. Perryman and Littleton, in that order, are the only two to consider here.

Kyzir White – Los Angeles Chargers – Start

Kyzir has played the second most snaps behind Murray and is the worst graded of the three according to PFF. He has had the most steady playing time across three weeks, and the Raiders have given up the second most points to linebackers this year. I think he is worth a flex play or low-end LB2.

Kenneth Murray – Los Angeles Chargers – Sit

Murray is hard to figure out. He has the draft capital (23rd pick in 2020), but his playing time has decreased each week from 100% to 79% to 51%. His production was about the same the first two weeks (5 solos and 3 or 4 assists) and then fell off hard to 1 solo and 1 assist in Week 3. It is unclear if this is to send a message or a reaction to his poor play to start the year (a continuation of last year to be honest), but it really muddies this situation. I am sitting him this week for someone with what I feel is a higher upside until we get clarity to this. All the signs are just pointing in the wrong direction.

Drue Tranquil – Los Angeles Chargers – Start

Drue’s snaps have gone up each week, and he is the best rated of the three according to PFF. I think he is worth a flex start given his increased role and production each week. He is a risky play, however, because if they give Kenneth Murray more time, then Drue is likely to be the one to have lower playing time as a result.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy: Defensive Backs

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 4 Fantasy – Nasir Adderley

Trevon Moehrig – Las Vegas Raiders – Sit

Despite weeks of 100%, 100% and 93% snap shares, Trevon has 6 solos and 3 assists on a year. He is not producing at a level that warrants playing him.

Johnathan Abram – Las Vegas Raiders – Start

Abram is the only Raiders DB you want to start. He has at least 7 combined tackles each week, and he plays closer to the line of scrimmage much more often than Moehrig. He is a top 20 safety option this year and a regular starter in most leagues. Fire him up again this week against the potent Chargers offense.

Derwin James and Nasir Adderly – Los Angeles Chargers – Start

Both Derwin James (a starter) and Alohi Gilman (back-up) were limited in part of practice this week. Derwin, after separating his shoulder in the Week 3 game did finish the game, and Gilman had a hip injury If Gilman plays and Derwin does not, I would start Gilman who had 7 solos, 1 INT and 1 PD on a 34% snap share Week 3. If Derwin plays, do not start Gilman hoping for a repeat on a low snap share.

Derwin is a stud DB who you cannot sit despite his slow start. Adderly has been a steady production presence with 19 solos and 3 assists over three games who gives you a decent floor.

Asante Samuel Jr – Los Angles Chargers – Start

Throwing in a CB option here, Samuel has shown a nose for the ball as a rookie, with 4 PD and 2 INT in three weeks to go with 6 solos and 3 assists. The Raiders are in the top 10 in points allowed to cornerbacks, so Samuel is a nice start in a pinch or CB required leagues.
