In this episode I have the pleasure of chatting with Janelle Haas, volunteer 504 plan advocate who frequently fields 504 questions from JDRF and families needing help establishing a 504 plan.  What is a 504 plan?? Great question! It can be so confusing and overwhelming, especially when dealing with the already overwhelming Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. Basically, a 504 plan is a legally binding document that all T1D students in grades KG to 12 need to ensure they are safe and treated fairly while at school.  Janelle and I talk all about what it entails and things you need to consider when drafting your child's.
