Marissa was introduced to an MLM and that began to change her mindset about education. There are many other options to become educated than getting into debt with school loans, which if you file bankruptcy, stays with you! Options to becomes educated are join a mastermind group, get a mentor, and join an MLM. You limit your future to a paycheck when you go to college and just work a traditional career. Some professions need a college degree, like doctors. Most people don't even end up working in the field they went to college for. They end up back home with parents. MLM Joining a Network Marketing company is a good place to start if you want to get into business. It teaches you the fundamentals of business. It teaches you personal development. Mentor Getting a mentor is important. Even if it's not in business, get one in every area of your life you want to grow in. "Regardless, you're going to fail, but a mentor shortens that learning curve." Mastermind Masterminds are generally for business but it is whole different atmosphere than school. School is all about competition, where masterminds there is support.  School wastes space in your brain. "You are what you eat." You become what you consume, who your friends are, what you listen do, podcasts, music, what you read, etc. what feeds your soul. "Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you'll become." Conferences are a good way to become educated. Books "Books are the keys to life." "If you want to hide something, put it in a book." Our generation doesn't read anything other than Facebook. Reading is the key to growing. Our generation has a short attention span. Jobs Jobs are great places to learn. Work to learn, don't work to earn. Robert Kiyosaki talks in Rich Dad Poor Dad about working at Xerox and joining the military to learn skills for business. Pick a job where you can grow from a skill set and use it later on. Too many people work for money. The school system lack financial education. "If you don't tell your money where to go, it'll tell you where its going to go." If you don't set goals you will just work for money the rest of your life. In the school system economics is not emphasized. Economics isn't taught in homes.  Parents aren't educated, school doesn't teach it, so you follow your peers and it comes back to you are what you eat. Schools need to teach more life skills, trade skills, give more options. Eventually the school system will change, but not enough people realize it needs to. There are lots of 1099 options for jobs now, like Uber, that teaches entrepreneurial skills. Traditional jobs just aren't working anymore. People in our generation can't find work, people who have retired need to keep working so we don't get the jobs. People want to become entrepreneurs now but they don't know how. People are starting to realize the school system is flawed.  The only way things will change is momentum, share your ideas and keep sharing. Time=Money
