Alan Leung - The FUK FUK = Follow Up King Alan born and raised in San Diego, parents immigrated from China to America. Parents both were always working, and always in the food industry. He was taught to go to school, get good grades, and eventually retire. First job was with SMS. Worked 5-7 days, 50-70 hours a week. He learned hard work will bring you success. "In any successful business you have to follow up consistently." Follow-up is truly key in business. People get hired for jobs because they keep following up. Follow-up is what made him become a part of this company. "People don't follow-up because they assume the rejection." You just have to be consistent. You can always bring in new insight. 10-15% of "NO" people have eventually said "YES" Always shares updates and new wins. He would revise his sales pitch over and over, when he started it's good to have a script. Uses a simple spreadsheet: Name Email Phone Number Date Spoke Last Notes Color Coded based on Follow-up/client/not picked up Had people who initially dodged him and now are clients. Longest prospect was 7-8 months. Follow up is key, believe in what you have. "Go in with the mindset 'Until' " Until they sign up, until they give a solid answer. A month later, they'll have forgotten your number and pick up the phone. "The biggest thing really is to be consistent in follow-up and provide value."
