In 2023, Bob Starkey helped Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers win the NCAA women's basketball championship as the Associate Head Coach. During his storied career, he's coached both men and women and made stops at LSU, Central Florida, Marshall, West Virginia State, and Texas A&M. In 2007, he led LSU's women to the Final Four as the interim head coach stepping in prior to the tournament when head coach Pokey Chatman resigned. Among the notable All-American and Hall of Fame players he's been around included Shaquille O'Neal, whom he coached at LSU when he was Dale Brown's assistant coach.
