Sarah Davis
Adventurer, Author, Speaker
Britain vs The World

Today I have the pleasure of welcoming Sarah Davis as my latest guest. Sarah is an incredible adventurer and explorer, and we're going to dive into some fascinating topics today.

We start off by discussing Famous British explorers and what inspired Sarah to embark on her own adventures.

She shares with us her first expedition, paddling the Nile, and how her background in project management and risk management played a crucial role in her success.

Sarah emphasizes the importance of thorough planning and preparation, as well as having a solid understanding of potential risks and how to mitigate them.

One aspect that stood out during our conversation was Sarah's encounters with authorities during her expeditions, and worse still - being arrested in Burundi for crossing an unmarked border.

She shares some eye-opening stories about navigating being questioned in and surviving certain countries. Sarah explains how she navigated these situations with grace and diplomacy, highlighting the importance of cultural sensitivity, respect and the value of using subject matter experts in the close protection fields.

Another key point Sarah made was the significance of having a strong support system. She talks about the role her advisors played in helping her make informed decisions and manage risks effectively.

Sarah emphasises the importance of surrounding yourself with knowledgeable and experienced individuals who can provide guidance and support throughout your journey.

We also touch on Sarah's process of writing a book to process her experiences. She explains how putting her thoughts and emotions into words helped her gain a deeper understanding of herself and her adventures.

Sarah shares her mindset of reframing threats into challenges as opportunities for growth and personal development.

As we wrap up our sit down, Sarah leaves us with some valuable advice on goal-setting and celebrating milestones.
She encourages listeners to set ambitious yet realistic goals, and to break them down into smaller, manageable steps.

She emphasises the importance of acknowledging and celebrating each milestone along the way, as it provides motivation and a sense of accomplishment.

Thank you, Sarah, for joining me today and sharing your incredible insights and experiences. It has been an absolute pleasure having you on the show.
