Daniel Ritchie was exposed to a lot at a very young age. He had family members who were working through mental health challenges. He had an uncle who owned bars so he was introduced to that lifestyle as a child. Daniel was a good athlete from a young age and found that he liked being physical. Boxing and fighting became a passion of his, he would go on to become a semi-pro boxer. Even though he was a gifted athlete and involved in multiple sports, alcohol and the street life attracted him.
