In December of 1942, 19-year-old Staff Sgt. Jackson Barbour from Memphis, Tennessee was a crewmember onboard a B-17F “Flying Fortress,” when it was struck by anti-aircraft fire following a bombing raid on a German aircraft factory in France. The conclusion to his story is today's KNSS Salute to Service.
