In an exclusive interview with NFL Network this week, Steelers' star running back Le'Veon Bell was asked again about the progress of his long-term extension with Pittsburgh. "We're a lot closer than we were last year at this time. That's what I'm happy about," Bell explained. "I have confidence we'll get it done. I want to do it," he further concluded.
Bell led the league in touches last season, and with new offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner in place, Bell thinks he'll experience the same amount of touches (not necessarily more or less) this upcoming season. When asked about possibly missing training camp, Bell said, "I don't want to have to do that." Bell said he is optimistic about reaching an agreement on a new contract that would facilitate his arrival at camp on time per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com.
Bell discussed the latest news about his contract situation along with the No. 5 ranking on NFL Network's The Top 100 Players Of 2018 list. He stated that he was happy with his ranking but not satisfied. See his full interview here:
