She is also a Scholar in "Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH)" at the UC Davis School of Medicine, in Davis California. Dr. Schmidt recently co-author a paper entitled: "Maternal Periconceptional Folic Acid Intake and Risk of Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Delay in the CHARGE (Childhood Autism Risks from Genetics and Environment) Case-Control Study," in the July, 2012 issue of the American Journal of  Clinical Nutrition.
