“State of Emergency,” is a 5-part series investigating natural disasters, response and recovery. It’s produced by Carnegie-Knight News21, a national multimedia reporting project produced by the nation’s top journalism students and graduates. This year, 37 journalism students travelled to 25 states and 2 territories, examining, among other things, how local and federal agencies respond to communities devastated by disasters. They also interviewed hundreds of victims, survivors and first responders from affected communities.
