Unlike the preceding episodes, “Saints of Imperfections” focused on one major plot line: the rescue of Ensign Tilly from within the mycelial network after her abduction by May of the JahSepp species. Few on the Discovery believe Tilly is still alive, with the exception of Lt. Stamets. He concludes that the cocoon May left behind on the ship may have served as some type of transporter to take Tilly to her home. If that's true, then it means she's alive and Stamets believes there is a way to bring her back. But no one is prepared for the what else they find inside the network.
